2009 Camaro

I just finished my first illustration using my new Wacom Cintiq 12wx tablet. I was amazed at how quickly I became accustomed to this new way of working. Drawing on screen is so natural! Now, this illustration is very tight and not expressive, but I plan for this tablet to help break this habit. My […]

New Business Card

I love designs from the 19th century. Ephemera from the dawn of the industrial age brought us concepts such as branding and packaging for mass produced items. These images have stood the test of time. Though I design in many different styles, I wanted to create a new logo that communicated my passion for this […]

John Kuhn Studios

Jon Kuhn is a glass artist that employed me during my college summer breaks. His art continues to grow and evolve since the time that I worked there. www.kuhnstudio.com

Allan Guy Website

This month, I have had the honor of building a portfolio website for the prolific designer Allan Guy. Working on other artist’s artwork tells you a lot about that person. You view the artwork in much closer detail than if you were just passively walking by. Perhaps you have walked by the work of this […]

Chistmas Card

This assignment was to create a Christmas accordion card that would allow a customer to place their photos on any fold without disrupting the design. I came up with some different approaches, but this was the easiest to start with. This approach allowed the customer to use any set of icons and place their photos […]

Scooby Doo Holiday Designs

Back in the 70’s, Scooby Doo was a staple at my house on Saturday mornings. These days, Scooby is still going strong on the Cartoon Network and Boomerang. I love Scooby’s expressions in this series of designs for Christmas and Valentine’s Day.

Dark Knight Line

I designed these before the release of the feature film, but after the passing of Heath Ledger. I wanted to post them again in honor of the DVD release. I got to see the movie at the Wachovia IMAX Theater in the Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh. That is definitely THE way to see […]

Hot Wheel Line

Here are four brand new licensed designs that were just approved by Mattel. I grew up playing with Hot Wheels and watching Dukes of Hazzard, so designing these were a lot of fun.

Vino Curioso Website

Vino Curioso is a small winery in Northern Virginia that is starting to make a name for itself. They are building a following and wanted a site to sell their wines. This site was inspired by the most relaxing time of the day to enjoy a fine glass of wine. View the website at www.vinocurioso.com […]

2008 World Series Poster

Here is a poster I designed for the 2008 World Series.I created this entirely in Adobe Illustrator. The crumpled paper texture really gives this design depth and a retro feel.

Otis Ollice 4/19/98 – 4/14/08

Today is a tough day in the Ollice household. Otis, my faithful companion for 10 years, just passed away. I read the book “Marley and Me” and Otis was nothing like Marley. Quite possibly, he was the best dog anyone could have ever had. He had the greatest disposition for a family dog. Being our […]

Farley’s Point 2002

Ever have a hard time getting everyone to smile for a photo? Solution? Photoshop two photos into one. I spent so much effort to blend the two photos together that I didn’t bother to erase the extra “me”.

Comcast Fiber Optic Network Illustration

Here is an illustration I just finished for Comcast’s High Speed Internet service. It’s based on a TV commercial graphic originally created by Godby, Silverstein & Partners. This PhotoShop file had over 175 layers and I hand tweeked each one!
